If it weren't for the adult nature of the content, it would almost make a good introductory RPG for younger gamers. I wasn't that keen on the quick-time-esque aspects of the combat, but I can understand that they probably wanted to introduce something that felt a bit more 'interactive' given that a good chunk of the audience for this game might not be that into turn-based RPGs.

The only slight issue I had was that some jokes get repeated if they're part of character's moves, and that can get a bit tedious, but it's probably better than removing jokes.Īs for gameplay, there is actually a pretty good RPG game system going on here. Of course some of the references are a bit dated now, and honestly much as I love it, South Park as always been a little hit and miss humour wise for me, but it's definitely to the same standards of the show itself. It manages to cram in an impressive amount of references to South Park 'lore', pretty much everything you can think of up to this point in South Park's history manages to sneak in somewhere. The game came out around 2014 which was probably around the time I was most into the show.

This game felt like a breath of fresh air when it came out sure it's not a graphical marvel, but the fact that it looks exactly like the TV show was just really cool. If you're as old as I am (which is old enough to have been watching the show when it first began airing), you'll remember the awful PS1 cash-in games that came out around the height of the show's early popularity. This is a game that I'd been wanting to play when it actually came out, but I just didn't have anything to play it on at the time.
